Welcome to CMKC Juniors!

The Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Club (CMKC) fosters a passion for purebred dogs among young enthusiasts. We believe our juniors represent the future of the sport!  This support encompasses fostering opportunities for juniors eager to engage in dog show events, ranging from conformation to performance activities and beyond!

CMKC Junior Assistance Grant Program

We are pleased to offer a non-competitive award and ALL CMKC Junior members (Juniors)
are eligible for a Cambridge Minnesota Junior Assistance Grant Fund.
Who may qualify: Any Junior (under 18 years of age) who meets the qualifications for
that specific event. A Junior must be a CMKC member (either through a Junior membership
or as part of a Household membership) for the entire qualification period. Juniors must have
been under 18 years of age at the time of the qualifying wins. (note: if the Junior turns 18
after qualifying, he or she may still receive the grant).
Events that CMKC will support:
  1. Junior Showmanship at the AKC National Championship.
  2. Westminster Junior Showmanship.
  3. AKC Juniors Classic (obedience and rally) at the National Championship.
  4. AKC Junior Agility Competition at the National Championship.
  5. Annual AKC Performance and Companion Invitationals (held at various times during the year).
There will be ONE grant per junior in a 12 month period, however the Committee has the discretion to award more than one grant per year provided the funds are available.  Juniors may receive a grant in successive years, as long as qualifications are met each year.
Juniors  should submit a grant form (below) as soon as they know they have met qualifications, and at least 30 days prior to event.
Juniors must write up an article for the Bulletin after their event, describing their experiences and how the grant has helped them. Juniors are also asked to submit a list of expenses they have incurred for their event (receipts are not required). This will help the CMKC committee plan for future grants. Junior must provide this no later than 90 days after participation in their event.  Juniors are responsible for observing time frame.
After the Junior has participated and submitted their article, check will be issued from the CMCK to the Junior.
Grant amounts are at the discretion of the CMKC Board and funds available which may change year to year.
